Would the part number be the same as listed in the email - based on the engine serial number being different? Thanks for all the help.

    Cat D5G oil pressure problem

Engine serial number MHK07347 Ok, so I took the wire off the sending unit. The gauge went to zero. When I connected the wire to the engine block (ground) the gauge went to the max reading (over 80 PSI). When I reconnected the wire to the sending unit, the gauge (briefly) read 40 PSI...

I will look at the engine tomorrow. Is it possible to take the two switches out and clean them with "brake cleaner" and re lubricate them to get them to work?

    Cat D5G oil pressure problem

OK, so I downloaded the service repair manual (all 6700 pages). Needless to say it is not much help. Can someone give me "short bus" instructions on what to check and where? I am not very good at reading electrical schematics. Thanks for any help!!!!

    Cat D5G oil pressure problem

Serial number MHK07347 My oil pressure normally reads 40 lbs while working the machine. Now the gauge is pegged to the highest reading. The machine runs fine without any problems. I changed the oil today and before even starting the machine (the machine had not run at all today) the oil...

Kobelco 200LC Mark IV RPMs surging

Well, it ended up being one of the batteries. The battery was over 5 years old and would not even register on the battery charger. My guess is that it was pulling current away from the computer. Changed the battery and the machine is working good again.

Kobelco 200LC Mark IV RPMs surging

When the RPMs drop, none of the linkages on the injector pump move. They remain in place as the RPMs drop (if this helps).

Kobelco 200LC Mark IV RPMs surging

Machine Serial number YQU4681 Cummins 5.9 I have a Kobeloc 200LC Mark IV. Two weeks ago, the RPMs started dropping then would go back up. I replaced all the filters (both fuel filters and air filter)- still fluctuating. I replaced the fuel lift pump and it immediately made a big difference...

Engine problems - not sure where to even start

UPDATE: The bottom back plate of the injector pump was loose and was leaking oil (see below - the part held on with four black screws). I replaced all filters (air and fuel). The motor will run good for about 10 minutes then will start losing RPMs and power, then it will return to normal...

Engine problems - not sure where to even start

Serial number YQU4681 Yesterday, the machine started running rough and the rpms started to drop down. White smoke started coming out of the exhaust. All fluid levels were good. I shut the machine off, and started it back up and it straightened out and ran good for 3 hours. Then it...

Need help on Hydraulic Fittings Kobelco SK200 LC

UPDATE: I purchased a new Parker hose crimper- can do up to 3/4 inch fittings. Really not that bad cost wise. I then got online and found the two most common fittings for the excavator. I counted 20 (mostly pilot lines) that are in poor shape. The fittings were about 1/2 the cost of...

Need help on Hydraulic Fittings Kobelco SK200 LC

You are 100% correct and your post clarifies a lot that I did not know. Fensel Parker is the only place I can find the fittings for the machine - and they are VERY proud of their fittings. Between a 1996 JCB backhoe, a Scout (swamp buggy) a CAT D5G bulldozer, Massey Ferguson Utility tractor...

Need help on Hydraulic Fittings Kobelco SK200 LC

Serial number YQU4681 I am considering purchasing a used or inexpensive hydraulic tube crimping machine. About once a month, the machine suffers a hydraulic leak (the excavator's nickname is the Exxon Valdese). I am spending a small fortune on having new hoses as well as it takes over an...

    D5G Quick question

Yes, once I got the majority of the muck out and found the drain hole, I used a garden hose. It really helped in the end.
