The wonderful thing about that straw plant above,, it had a bunch of grant money involved.
The load would easily fit on a rail car too. It's not like it's extra long or way oversize. When I was taking photos and standing right on the rail line that ran by that
colossal dud for engineering--I remember thinking, this is a prime example of insanity.

It was on a rail car from Oklahoma to here. Both sets of tracks originate from same yard, butThe load would easily fit on a rail car too. It's not like it's extra long or way oversize.
That's a Chevy 6500, replaced the old Kodiak line. They only use hydraulic brakes, but on-board air was an option. Here is a strange one I saw the other day, not sure what to make of it. Trailer has air hoses run to it like normal. I don't know what kind of truck that is, never seen another one like it.

That's a medium duty GM truck. 4500,5500, 6500. International makes the truck on contract for GM, they are actually being discontinued, this is the last year for them. Here is a strange one I saw the other day, not sure what to make of it. That looks more like a G&L facing and centering machine to me.We loaded this up the other day. They were just moving it across the yard, but it was putting the hurt on the truck and trailer.
It's a 25,000lb lathe.

They use it for turning railroad axles. That looks more like a G&L facing and centering machine to me.
Do you have some other pix please ?They use it for turning railroad axles.
Not right now, we'll be moving it again this summer or fall, I'll try to get some pictures of their equipment, it's a bunch of big old specialized wheel and axle machines.Do you have some other pix please ?
The trailer alone looks like a good load for the truck. Large tandem dually axles on the trailer and single wheels on the truck just seems out of proportion. That's a medium duty GM truck. 4500,5500, 6500. He's got a load on, we set quite a few of those sewer boxes, and between those and that heavy old trailer, he's 35-40,000. The boxes vary by weight if they have internal chambers, but they are usually 7-10k each. So being generous, he's got 14,000 on top, and a 15,000 lb trailer.
I don't think those are factory air brake trucks, but they do have a factory air ride. I have no idea how they have the brakes set up.

Chevy Is Discontinuing the Medium-Duty Silverado That International Builds
The trucks are the result of a joint venture that dates back to 2015, which GM has opted not to continue.www.thedrive.com
Truck is way too small but a very short move. If I have to move my Cat that's 3000lbs. or so lighter 15 miles on a similar trailer (pintle hitch), will pulling it with a tandem dump truck be reasonably safe if I go slow and have someone following me?We loaded this up the other day. They were just moving it across the yard, but it was putting the hurt on the truck and trailer.

I'm not there Dave, and I don't know your truck or trailer.Truck is way too small but a very short move. $900 sounds nuts. Any others around to get a quote from? Towing outfit? The dump truck GVW is 56,000lbs. but I'm going to talk to someone else at the gravel pit. They moved the Cat for me before no problem. I'd imagine the CEO will still be working for the new owners so I'll try to talk to him. The gravel pit said they would help with things and I also need to make sure I can still keep stuff at the old property for 2 years or more as part of the written agreement. The CEO is a pretty nice guy. To hire someone to haul the Cat would be over $900! That's a lot of money to move it 15 miles!
