Took the opportunity while the soil is moist to widen, re-grade and top my drive. Widened with a downhill pass with the backhoe. Then hooked up the box blade the cut a ditch and re-grade/retop with some fresh crusher.

No I believe It was made in Japan by Hinomoto under the Massey name, It has a Toyosha 2.0L 35hp 3 cyl diesel. I hope it never breaks cause parts come dear if at all! Been a good machine though. Put it through hell and she never gives me crap. Now that I have the jcb though I'm a little easier on her. Hope she doesnt go getting soft on me!

Casey 518 - you pulled that stump out with the Massey? I have a Ford 2120 and can’t get my 555D safely in the area to pull some stumps. Did you dig around that stump first?

Lots of digging. I have a Woods backhoe attachment for it. When that was my only machine i would dig as much as i could, then cut the remaining roots and wrap a strap around it and pull them out. Just took more time. Still way better than a shovel!

I hand dug about 20 stumps out one weekend at my first house. Mostly poplar. Anything from a 3" stump to a 22" diameter stump. It was very physical work and I am thankful it was in fairly sandy ground. I pulled the stumps, hand loaded them onto a trailer, hand unloaded the trailer, shoveled soil onto the trailer, shoveled it off the trailer into the stump holes, hand raked it, seeded it, rolled it, etc. One spring weekends work. That fall I bought my first Bobcat. Another year after I bought my backhoe. A few years later, I bought a dump trailer. I don't hand dig stumps anymore.

Well guess what folks, after almost 16 months of sitting in my driveway at my home in the town that I live instead of being out at the property 15 minutes away, it is back out there!!!! Now I can finally get something down out there instead of saying, 'well I would like to do that but....'

Mine still sits with whatever the non-starting issue is. I keep finding other things to do than diagnose its trouble.

Amen to that. Part of the reason it sat so long at the house. I went to finish up the last thing and see a puddle of oil under the tire where the hub seal decided to go out.
Then once I get to the property yesterday the neutral cut off switch for the bucket didn’t work.
Does the fixing ever end! Haha

I had a boulder too big to drag with the backhoe. In past I've rigged a number of snatch blocks & winched them with the Power Wagon. This one got reduced.
As you see, roughly 6'. It had a seam developed along the crystal boundary. All the swirly marks are from laying in a stream & pebbles swirling around it centuries. Sometimes a rock like this will break with perfect flat faces.
I started the fire 4:30 pm went in for supper & last put wood on about 7:30 pm. Biggest piece is 1/3 the original size.
Took about 1 cubic yard of odd shaped chunks of mixed hardwood.

After the Titan thumb last year, I've been looking at other thumbs. Found one I could afford and made the 150 mile each way drive. 2 custom bushing/spacers welded to the bucket and I have a Kubota thumb on a Volvo.
A fixed brace built by a kind neighbor, in the Titan bracket till I can figure out and afford hydraulics. I got the Kubota cylinder in the deal also.

Manure. Only dairy farmer still producing milk in Danby does an annual cleaning of the barn yard. I got 4 10 yard loads. A mix of dirt, manure & wet hay. I let it rot down a year & it makes a great top dressing for the lawn, or mix with sand to use as topsoil.
Farmer has only a primative Allis-Chalmers backhoe, maybe 1968, to load. I'm not sure why he does it, his hoe is fully extended to the rear as he loads. It swings randomly with tilt or centrifugal force. I see that as very treacherous! A wreck waiting to happen. Tires are bald & 2 wheel drive. Seat is bad, only broken rusty sheet metal, he stands up most of the time. It takes time for him to load. I took my hoe. I got all four gears working again, damn! that shift mechanism is complicated! A lot of vertical in the 5 mile trip, took 19 minutes up. Return trip about 9 minutes.

I'd like a good pile of composted manure... My buddy has horses and I always forget a container to take when I go over there. We've used it on a few things around the yard and Holy crap does it make things grow well.
My hoe still sits. I haven't messed with it all for a couple months now. I do have the battery tender on it, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Oh yeah, I added power to the barn! Very simple and temporary but there's now an outlet in there, woop!

Think you should get it running.
All the old equipment you see around, it ran at one point and developed a problem or people just forgot about it.
The longer it stays not running, the harder it is to get running and the faster it dies.
