Strange, theres no tracks on the barge 009,thus its awkward stance.
Good eye on the tracks! Rental0029.jpg On the back of that pic it says...July 23 1974, Norrie's 065 going to Phillips Arm, Olympics going to Still Water. 065??? This 044 is S/N 47003 according to the build list I have Zeman Logging, Smith Cove Alaska. I'm wondering if it made it to CZ Nitnat, the guyline fairlead looks like some of the pics Camptramp loaded. ???

I'm kind of curious why the log under the yarder frame and not using the pad to support base of yarder under tower ?
They must have encountered some problems with the frame/pad and placed the log there instead, it may not have been secured. It must be difficult to get the tailgate pad in place after tower is lifted. This yarder was specially built for Weyerhaeuser Pee Ell division to make an easier transport over lots of underdimensioned bridges they had (according to Rusty Grapple). Yarders is well alive but have been dredging gravel for a while somewhere in Oregon. I bring some borrowed pictures from Facebook, hope it's ok Jeff R.

That yarder is just down the road from me, here in Toledo, WA. "L" Rock Industries. Been there a year or better, plus in the true Madill spirit they bought a parts machine. I know they have replaced the pinion gear and one of the main gears. One of the units came out of California. And yes, they pile rock up against that plate in front of the tube

Hello Username - Toledo, Wa - Cowlitz River it was! Everyone that get the chance should go and see a gravel yarding operation, truly fascinating for a yarding engineer since it's not dependant on deflection, sooner opposite, since you wan't bucket to scrape ground on inhaul! Effective as well to get gravel dug out from under the ground. And then, no offence, but manufacturer should be excused for operator having a part machine or two when operating a machine manufactured in 1974. Only places you will see 41 year old machines actually operating (and operating well) is in seawater, on rails and in logging!

Looks great Murk, wish I could see it working in person.
Me too! I was in the cab lol.. It works great, nice and smooth, quiet and tight. I've been operating a little Tbird 255 for the last few years. Nice to do something different kind of a holiday.

20150420_094400.jpgS5003497.jpgS5003498.jpgProlog NZ the cab tilt is for Yarding down hill steep ground, tilt the cab back and your not bent over trying to see the side hill it works great! first yarder I've operated with this option. Couple of hyd rams about a 12 in stroke. This machine was built in 1987 has been in the field ever since. It has had pretty much all the clutches and air valves replaced, updated the grapple controls with the T-Mar system. Re-life the 144

Nice! I might look at doing that with my 123 as we get quite a bit of downhill yarding.

Here is my cab after our latest upgrades the white box looking arrangement above the windscreen is the detroit dash with it's cover still on 20141017_115330_resized (2).jpg

We caught up with permits in Port Alberni so I had some spare time for a project like this. HEF is semi responsible for hooking us up for the test drive.. back to Port next week..
Prolog NZ .. pictures above with 4 GYs has a 123 that has been rebuilt as well, 60 series, 5 speed Allison, new cab same as the 144, electric yarding controls, I don't think there's any air in the cab, wireless remote for the guylines so the operator can spool his guylines. I talked to the owner who was telling me its 10% faster than the 124...think its for sale..

Actually it is "I-Rock". John Bredfield and a partner own it.

Yeah mate that machine of Lornes is a beast I was up there last year having a good look at it! I Liked it that much as soon as I got back to NZ we pulled the Cummins out and threw a 575hp 1850ft/lb series 60 in our 123! T-Mar have just finished a full rebuild on a 324 Wichita that is the next stage in this hotrod build as my machine only came with the 224 on the tail.
