Is that engine used in the oil field pumping stations or a locomotive application?

The engine is spark ignited and burns natural gas, it is used to drive a natural gas compressor at a compressor station north of Fort Nelson BC. The main water pump failed and started leaking coolant into the crank case and spun multiple main bearings. The block had to be machined and a new cranckshaft was installed.

I was like a kid in a candy shop. I should of spent more time down there, apparently leaving prince george early this morning was a bad idea. I'm sure you heard about the logging trucks on the caribou?

Yeah, I there a few minutes after it happened, he was just climbing out, little shaken up quite the story though. RCMP took like a couple hours to respond, showed up, walked around, looked important and left. Photos in the other thread.

And will do. I'm in camp in a few weeks, so maybe in spring.

Here is a Mitsubishi roadbuilder owed by ballegeer bulldozing at the time of the picture. I dont know were the machine ended up, it was a very heavy machine. I think it was a 45 ton size machine.

Here's a few I took over the last couple days... The Hein Werner is mine, the other three aren't... Would be nice if they were though... I'd just LOVE to add the Prentice to my collection of obscure things:D

One question for you Canandian boys. I have noticed on all yer hoes, the thumbs don't have the progessive links on them. And for the most part they only have two teeth on them. Whats the story there?

I ran a two tooth thumb on 790 JD that came into the states a few years back and thought it was the most unproductive boat anchor you could get on a machine, right next to a fixed thumb.

Just to confirm this is the thumb in question?

Okay so you're explanation. I hate them too, they're stupid and don't work. And they're always or were originally attached to some pos CAT. As far as I know that's how cat designed their thumb, and mass produced it, then someone made knocks offs and flooded the market.

My 450D has a Daewoo thumb, love it to death. four fingers, good arch on them. Yes it's direct link. and it's strong.

Sorry for the crappy photo, but I don't get out of my machine when it's light out we're too low on man power. We work dark until dark.

Here are few shots of our hoes over the last few years on a couple differnt road jobs. Granted our road are few and far between. Landfills are more of our forte anymore.
