    no u dont have to, i used a torx bit with a pair of vise grips to turn it and u can squeeze between the cab and the cover not much room but it is do-able

    after having fixed a few of these for people, im beginning to notice that on some of the thumbwheel switches, when the magnet goes bad, its not too long after, that the sensor inside the switch ends up going bad. and thats the point of no return for the switch.

    did you check the connector at the end of the joystick harness? its located under the joystick near the floorplate. u have to take the grey plastic cover off that is underneath the joystick

    I don't remember off the top of my head the Pole orientation but if you give me some time I will go out to my machine and take my switch off and get some pictures of it and double check the polarity of the magnets for you

    Well i replaced the relay and the fuse and still no power at the glow plugs. i can hear and feel the relay click when the switch for the glow plugs is pressed, but no power at the connection to the glowplug rail

    relay is bad. it smells like it let the smoke out. do i have to get one from CAT or can i get one from autoparts store (napa, oreilleys, etc..)?
