Thomas Skid with Kubota v1902b engine problems

Alright. So a little over a week ago I finally got around to pulling the engine out and taking the head off... It wasn't good. I noticed one of the pistons wasn't oriented correctly. Pulled of the oil pan and it was pretty chunky in there. The con rod was doubled over and sitting in the out pan...

Thomas Skid with Kubota v1902b engine problems

There is a video on YouTube with a getting the air out of the fuel lines on a Kubota, he says to move the decompression lever to aid in this, so yes Kubotas do have that function at least some of the engines. What would I be looking for with the head off for the rod bearing. Also I don't see...

Thomas Skid with Kubota v1902b engine problems

So after the diagnostics were done it came down to this. There is 0 that's right 0 compression cylinder 1. The other cylinders have fine compression. My guess is that means there is something shot with the valve. When I had the valve cover off I tapped the valves as a quick way to check the lash...

Thomas Skid with Kubota v1902b engine problems

We are working towards diagnosis but we have run into something interesting that doesn't make sense. We were considering that perhaps it was with the injector pump. We took one of the injectors out and attached it the fuel line off to the side of the engine. The idea was f we turned the engine...

Thomas Skid with Kubota v1902b engine problems

So I took out the injector and gave it to a friend who has the tech to figure out if something is wrong with it. It was spraying at a good pressure and it was deemed that "it should work". They cleaned it and re-laped it anyhow and we put it back in with no change. The weather warmed up recently...

Thomas Skid with Kubota v1902b engine problems

I have had my old Thomas for about 9 months now and I have been enjoying it, I don't use it all that frequently so I have a hard time gauging if changes happened over a long period or over night. Yesterday I was using it to dig out of a big snow storm and I noticed it was making a sort of...

    Shank Replacement

Since I got my machine I have been thinking about what to do with the leading edge of my Cat 311B. The teeth always made a bunch of noise and wobbled around. It was annoying but I just put up with it. Today I had a shank break right off and I lost 2 teeth so I have had it and now I want to do...

95 Cat 311B Wont idle down or shut off with the key.

I have a 311b That I got a few months ago and I noticed something the other day that may help your diagnostics. On the display where your feul level is and whatnot, the three buttons that you decide what you will be doing with the machine (loading, digging and grading I call them) have different...

    Information needed

Skid steers are horrible vehicles for virtually everything except spreading and moving things (like soil, snow, wood...) and they are quite quick. We have a saying around my neck of the woods about tractors "There is nothing you can't do with a tractor - There is nothing you can do with a...

    Information needed

Are you particularly handy mechanically? I Have a Thomas T-133 that I bought for $2500, painting, welding and changing axle seals right now. Bought a cat 311B for $20k because it needed the final drive rebuilt. Moral of the story if you are handy buy something that needs a bit of work you will...

    Thomas T-133 Axle seal

I managed to get the axle seal out and all looks good except the seat for the seal has two grooves that are smooth and only about .002-3" deep. I am wondering if it makes sense to ignore it or should I get it machined?

    Thomas T-133 Axle seal

So today I took a wheel off to size up the job and I quickly realized that it might be a bit different than I initially realized. from the parts diagram (http://www.thomasloaders.com/upload_files/manuals/133%20Parts%20Manual%20%28SN%20LE000537-LE002182%29.pdf page 28) that I saw, there is a bolt...

    Thomas T-133 Axle seal

I recently purchased a used skid steer and I knew it needed new axle seals I hope to buy the seals tomorrow and I was wondering what kind of job I am up against to replace them? Are there any tricks I should know about? Is there anything I should do while I am in there? Any advise would be...

    Thumb for Cat 311B

I bought this excavator having never operated a machine in the past which means I really don't know what I want. Foot valve sounds ok. The only thing I need to know is will it work on my machine? I don't even know if there is plumbing anywhere for an aux.

    Thumb for Cat 311B

I did check with ATL Cat and they said "from $9-12k". TRC in Burnside said it would be around $1k for the lines and the ram. The only unknowns are the control and the line shapes.
