Took apart to change final drive, was adjusting brakes and tightened one side up too much. Can’t get it to loosen from the outside 1.5 inch pipe plug with a screwdriver, any ideas?

If you look into the hole the plug was removed from you should see a flat steel locking plate that's connected to a spring ( it catches in one of the notches on the adjuster ). Try taking another screw driver and prying the lock plate away from the adjuster wheel and try backing the adjustment off like that. The plate is there to keep the adjustment from backing off. If it's the left brake adjuster it will be on the back side of the adjuster wheel. Look at the right side. It's the same lock plate but you should be able to see it just inside the hole and that might help you see what you need to do on the left side.

OK so the adjuster link you are taking about, when I’m pulling the right steering handle back if I go too far back the handle gets really easy like no resistance at all and the brake stays stuck, I have to go with a screwdriver and push the adjuster back up and it releases the lever coming out of the steering box going to the steering handle.

It sounds like something is broken in the brake band or brake anchor assembly. The track won't pull with the lever pulled because the steering clutch ( which is hydraulically applied )is released by the position of the spool in the steering clutch valve dumping the pressure that engages the clutch. The brake is mechanically applied and when the brake band is working correctly you want it adjusted to start braking the clutch drum after the clutch is released. If the engine is loaded when steering to either side the brake is applying before the clutch is released and needs to be loosened. You may have to adjust the linkage going to the steering clutch spools so the pressure going to the clutch pistons starts to decrease when the spool is moved into the housing about an 1/8 of an inch or so.

Sounds like the brake lever adjusting screw (#4 in screenshot) is mis adjusted allowing the linkage to go “over center“ . See (2) screenshots below.

Been there, done that. I figured out that if you tighten the adjuster nut so the band is almost tight on the drum the latch pieces will stay in place when you put the cover on.
