They have one of those Mcgiffert steam log loaders at the train museum in Duluth MN. It is quite the contraption, apparently it worked well.

Damn near identical to the largest tree I ever fell in Southeast Alaska on Dall Island in 2002.
13'9" and got 38 bushel out of it to the limb whirl.
