It was brought to my attention that I made a mistake identifying that yarder. It's actually an IJ80, I don't know if I was just delirious or fat-fingered it while typing as I started work at 3:00 yesterday morning, put the day in and then drove seven and a half hours home so I really shouldn't have been typing anything technical! o_O

There was only that tag on the tower. The rest were torn off. I was really curious what it was and you guys didn’t let me down!

New on here. Just happened upon some old posts from 2010, 2012 about a 444 Skagit that Barham owned. I know this mache inside and out. I worked under or around it for 16 years. Gave it up and started a new career in 2007. Started out chasing on the landing, then graduated up to hookin'. Later on, i ran it for almost two years. Spent many many hours around it, mechanicing and I even painted it a few times during the spring layoffs. Awesome machine. Any questions hit me up

Thank you. I'll throw out a couple corrections and fun facts about Barhams old Skagit 444. It did not have a Cummins in it. It had an 8v-92 Detroit Diesel around 500 horse in about 1100 foot pounds of torque, with a 6-speed Allison behind it. It held 2600 ft of 7/8 swedged skyline and 3200 ft 5/8 swedged main line. You would always start out pulling in third gear anything lower than that would just snap chokers or mainline. Had two sets of frictions on the main line drum pull with the one set of frictions most the time if it was a hard pull you'd have to dog in both of them and it we just told her it broke something

There was a picture in one of the first posts in 2010 of a similar Skagit and it is the same machine it was before the first wreck. Machines been wrecked three times after the third wreck everything was upgraded , with the rops around the cab the new style boom and three guidelines instead of two which is what caused all the other wrecks
