That's unfortunate. Sorry to see/hear that. While she's apart, time yo clean the tank again. That brass went somewhere.

Yeah that’s okay I’m just happy that we have found the issue….maybe hahah, and yeah we’ve taken out every little filter screen and have replacement filters and have wiped the tank clean and the mechanic is going to double check and go through it all before he puts the new pump on

When installing the new pump,make 100% sure you have oil throughout the pump . Dry starts are a sure fire failure. Best of luck.

@funwithfuel ,thanks for the responses , I'm going to try the hints on tracking down the pilot circuit

I have been thru the whole thread. Both of you did great working this out. Lots I didn't understand but I did get exposed to some of how this all works. Good sleuthing and teamwork both of you!

The one thing that I didn't get to understand is , ... where does the electrical signal for the solenoid under the pump come from , is there a switch for it in the cab or it's just a key-on kind of thing.
