Manual fuel transfer pump with filter?

I didn’t really know where to put this- I picked up a small fuel cube to use on the smaller equipment. It currently has a manual piston style transfer pump. Is it possible to put an inline filter after the pump or do the manual pumps not have the flow/pressure to be effective through a filter?

Used to put those same pumps on drill rigs for adding hydraulic fluid without contaminating the system. Would push hydraulic fluid through a 10 micron filter no problem so you won’t even notice it with fuel.
