Looking For Track Idler

We have a 1650M WT Case Dozer. We have needed a new track idler since November 2022. The dealership just told us a new idler will be another 6 months away again. We have tried every aftermarket option we know of and nobody has a supplier with this idler.

If anyone has any leads on new/used/rebuilt track idlers for these dozers please let me know!

Thank you.

Have you tried independent track shops or a Berco dealer? They can be more competitive on pricing and service. Komatsu used to have a affiliation with Berco which has ceased and now manufacture there own track gear based on Berco parts with huge improvements in quality.

This appears to be the one you're looking for? That pricing makes Cat prices look cheap!

We just got this exact idler in today thank you very much! Installed the idler already and now the customer wants a second one for the other side. Back to looking. Thanks again

Tried Berco dealers and a Komatsu connection with no luck

The company below advertises that they have an 87589400 idler available. Whether it still is actually availaible though, is something that only phone call or email contact with the company can confirm.

They told me first thing this morning they didn't have any stock. Thank you though!

What's wrong with the idler? I had a machine shop bore and sleeve one of mine. He put a pin between the sleeve and idler to keep the sleeve from turning.

Might be a good option for this one. The surface where the chain rides is worn and destroyed a fairly new chain though.

Takes a long time but those idlers can be built up, and machined back to size. This may be a candidate for the option.

An easy way of building up a roller or idler is to use flat bar of the appropriate grade metal, width and thickness, get it rolled to the circumference of the worn idler and weld it on.

If idlers are built up with weld don't require machining. It used to be very common. The condition of the axle and bearings is a bigger issue.
