LaPlant Choate scraper hydraulic pressure questions

Hello all, have managed to acquire a LaPlant Choate single axle scraper as shown in picture
Needs some work before use but seems all there.

The hydraulic ram that operates the scraper is of quite a size, is this because hydraulics were at a lower pressure back in the day ?
My thinking is if the pressure was lower it would need a larger surface area (hence large diameter ram) to produce the necessary force ?

Would anyone know what pressure these were meant to be operated at ?

Also would anyone know what colour it would have been as I have only got black and white pictures.

Will eventually be going behind my D7 3T

Thanks for the help

A quick look at other scrapers from the same manufacturer the same paint as the tractor would be good.

Would anyone have knowledge of the different wheel hub sizes from American manufacturers ?

The ones on the scraper are a 10 stud fitment but the hub size is 8” as far as I can measure ( will get the wheel off next week )
We can’t find anything over here to match up with ( original wheels are fair rotted out )

Thanks
Chris
