Can someone fill me in on how the Komatsu WA200 transmission works. I'm somewhat interested in a 200-5. It says it has a 4 speed powershift, but also says that it is a hydrostat. I'm used to a powershift in a volvo L70B. Is a WA250 the same?

thanks.

All later Komatsu loaders are hydrastat, not sure what dash they started but definitely -5 up are. Powershift is just Komatsu's name for their hydrastat trans which uses a variable piston pump and a 2 speed Motor-or variable speed motor, I cant recall for sure and is controlled by a controller(ECM)
