Got that motor back together?
Not yet. Don’t know how much it will screw me in the long run but I claimed it on my liability insurance. They finally came out and looked at it. By the time we just get parts, it will cost the same as a short block. No damage on the top end so I can reuse the head. Plus as long as I use the magical Deere break in oil, it will have a Deere warranty. On top of all that we’ve decided to pull the plug down here and head back to the frozen north. It’s been an adventure down here but it isnt working out and we need to make a change.

Life is a adventure. Hoping to move before hot weather? or just see how the stars align with property etc?
This wasn't an adventure for Mike.......this was a freaking nightmare.

Frozen North.......LOL. Gonna be in the 90's next week. Which is kinda funny.......I've got dive work scheduled for next week. Didn't know it was it was gonna be cooking when I scheduled it.

Good for you. A lot of people are afraid to go out and stretch a little, I've always thought there's no harm in trying something different. Life is an adventure. Hoping to move before hot weather? or just see how the stars align with property etc?
I’ve never been afraid of an adventure. I had an opportunity to put my truck on in a mine in Montana but we opted not to do it. We’ve got a house in maine under contract and our place here is for sale. Probably will leave here late July once we close on the house. Work has been very slow here and I can go to work immediately once I get back up north.

Exactly my point. I don't think of what mike has done in moving, and then moving back, as a nightmare.

I look at it as a "hey lets try this", and if it doesn't work, that's okay.

There are lots of things in life that are nightmares, but this isn't one of them. Get a terminal cancer diagnosis, lose a spouse, lose a child, watch 3 guys get injured for life on a jobsite.

Moving a couple states and trying something isn't a big deal.

Good luck on the move back Mike.

I will however miss the perverse pleasure out of comparing summer maine temps and east texas temps, just to reinforce my opinions of texas......

And on that note, I'm climbing in the truck this morning, and headed for Dallas. Got a one day job (one pick actually) to help a good customer, and I'm not planning on spending any more time there than necessary. You couldn't pay me enough to live there.

I completely agree crane op. My dad worked construction when I was a kid. We moved a bunch of times but always had a camp on a lake in maine for the summertime. Two of the biggest benefits were that I’ve never been scared to try something new and I can make friends anywhere.

before the wife and I moved down here we tried to think through every outcome. We came to the conclusion that Maine wasn’t going anywhere and if it didn’t work we could always come home.
