Hi,
I have been working on diagnosing a communication error I believe between the transmission and the instrument cluster.
The machine will go into forward and reverse but will not shift gears and does not display what gear the transmission is in on the display, also have other lights on the display that shouldn't be there
The instrument cluster reads the following:
1) "BODY RAISED" - it is not raised and I actually jumped the wires on the switch to make sure it wasn't the issue
2) "NO GEAR INFO" - I checked the can bus wires from the transmission controller to the cluster and they are good.
3) "START INHIBIT" - The machine still starts and runs fine
4) "IN GEAR" - Even when it is in Neutral this is displayed
5) There is no engine RPM displayed on the instrument cluster, just reads 0, I have confirmed the W wire on the alternator is sending a signal to the cluster
6) "Not charging light" - I have confirmed the alternator is charging and the D+ wire is sending signal to cluster
7) " low oil pressure" - I have mechanically checked and there is oil pressure and the switch is also working NC and then opens when system pressures up but the cluster is not registering that, if I just leave it unplugged the light doesn't show up on the cluster as it doesn't have to rescan for that fault after the engine is started.
Is there maybe an issue in the cluster? Something not making a good solder joint on the board? or is the issue in the transmission controller?
I have checked continuity between pretty much all pins and sensors on the transmission and controller. If you could please put me in touch with a tech that knows these machines and what the possible issue is that would be greatly appreciated. Also if there are diagnostic tools for this machine, I do have a JCB DLA 1.0 and the diagnostic harness for this machine but it has a RS232 plug and the DLA 1.0 requires a DB15 on the machine side, I do have the ability to make my own plug if I knew the pin out for the DLA and the if the 3 wires on my diagnostic port are can bus of J1708.
Any help would be greatly appreciated . We have already spent over a week trying to troubleshoot this unit.
Thank you very much.
Brendon
