Hello experts,
I inherited an old Sumitomo S160 excavator in working condition but with a lot of issues and no manual.
I decided to work my way bottom up and start with finding a replacement for the track chain. The shoes are still okay and the sprocket looks almost new but the bushings of the chain are ground down to the pins and the sprocket slips over/through the links and I fear it might pop off any second.
The problem I have is that there is apparently no vendor here in the Philippines that knows or has a fitting track chain for the S160.
So I have to find a fitting alternative. The question for me is just which measurements are important to consider if a different chain would fit.
Width of the links and pitch/distance between the bushings as well as numbers of links are probably pretty important.
But what is about the diameter of the pins/bushings and the thickness and form of the link-rail or other factors?
Also: How realistic or viable is it to find someone to replace just the pins and bushings on the whole track link assembly if I can't find a fitting chain to replace the old one?
