Hey everyone,
I’m working on a 2020 CAT 308-7 excavator and replacing the engine. When I checked the block, I noticed the serial number matches a Kubota V3307-T. Visually, it looks identical to the CAT-branded engine that’s currently installed.
I’m curious if anyone here has experience with swapping in a Kubota V3307-T in place of the CAT version. Will the ECM and wiring communicate properly, or are there differences I should be aware of (programming, sensors, mounts, etc.)?
Appreciate any insight or real-world experience with this kind of swap—trying to avoid surprises if I go with a Kubota-sourced replacement.
Thanks in advance!
