D7R trim codes

I’ve got a D7R and changing some injectors just ran into a problem with the trim codes. Are they done differently then other injectors that need to type injector serial numbers into sis and get the file that way to put into et or is it just type the 4 digit number onto et and it’s done. Thanks in advance

Are you using Cat injectors.?
If so the Trim Code instructions should be in the box whether they are new or Reman.

If they don’t have the 4-digit Trim Code etched on the top then you will probably have to download a Trim file from online SIS. There will be a different file for each injector Serial Number.

And for us unknowing ones. Why and what causes a need for this? Is it different dimensional changes from injector to injector, or electrical differences between them all? Oh for the good old days.

short answer is its not feasible/cost effective to manufacture and injector that is within the desired "tolerance" so they flow test them and assign them trim code that puts them within the desired spec

Cat reman injectors, they have the 4 digit code I just remember doing it the other way in the past on other machines
