Speaking of Cat manuals, some sections are for specific serial # ranges but there's this "For COSA usage" written on some others. What does it mean?

Now I'm even more confused because #1181 was still part of the 1st batch built in England using a
perkins 4-holer. THEN they were shipped west for retail, mine was originally bought in Canada (AFAIK). Differences are almost negligible.

G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.
In which country it was actually built is immaterial. The intended destination market is key to how it would have been configured as regards parts. It's quite a simple concept.

As an example in today's world you wouldn't expect a Chinese-built Cat excavator to be shipped into North America with all the warning labels and info plates in Chinese would you.?

Isn't Canada the same as USA for Cat stuff? The 51st state and all....kidding

I had good luck with finding parts using this catalog. The Cab parts were a bit of a challenge because how to tell version 1 or 2. I did spend some time staring at the catalog and noticing the subtle differences and my educated guess worked out correct.

Similar standards, used to be far better, and it's all metric now. And after almost half a century on metrics most hardware stores still don't have a single metric nut or bolt! We'll give Cuba 11th province status (currently 10 provinces + 3 territories), then see what he thinks of THAT. As far as the 51st state, it would have to be 51-64 ..or 65 including Cuba, all citizens at that time 1 million cash, and tax exemption for life :)
