No tricks.
But if the hydraulic pump is bolted to the front of the engine crankshaft, the coupler to it has to be separated to get the belt through.
It is then a good time to check the wear on the pump input shaft spline.
Sometimes the splines are seized and pump has to be unbolted to separate the two parts.

What model/engine? On the 450C with the 3.9 Cummins you have to unbolt the hyd pump drive coupler and slide it forward on the splines. It's really not a difficult job, should take less than an hour.

I have a link belt on the wall, it’s for emergencies only.
Anyone that leaves on for a while is either lazy or has never had problems with one but they will.
When you’re a 1/4 mile out in the woods and it starts to heat up, because the link belt came undone or stretched too much and then they overheat the engine and crack a head and melt some rings and piston tops.
Been there, done that and my dad was furious. Was his tractor, not mine.
lol
