case 1845c starting

I own a case 1845c serial number jaf0135601

the safety bar has rusted and broken off. I can not get the machine to turn over with out pushing the rod down and finding the sweet spot. If I jump the starter it will start right up and run forever. What is the connection point that stops the motor from turning over? Will using a remote starter every time hurt the starter?

I have three 1845C, with serial numbers on both sides of yours. None of mine have a starter interlock.

My 1840 does not have starter interlock on arm, arms on mine just use pin for
brake
