672GP Engine Vibration

Anyone dealt with solving the reocuring engine vibration with the 9 litre Tier III engine. This particular engine is in a 672GP. JD is wanting to put another set of engine mounts in. This will be the second set since I have been operating the grader. I recently came back to work for the agency that owns the grader. While I was gone less than 200 hours were put on the machine and it is probably been less than 500 since the first set of motor mounts were replaced for the same issue. The grader has almost 1300hrs presently. The vibration comes in at 1400rpm and smooths back out at 1700rpm. Vibration occurs in all situations whether parked, moving, no load, or grading. The first set of new mounts solved the issue when I was working with the agency but since I have been back and operating the grader the vibration has reoccured. Also having same issues since the grader was purchased with either the tensioner pulley and the one above it chirping/squeaking. They have been replace in the past also but this issue has also reoccured. Hopefully someone can give some insight on these issues. Thanks in advance for everyones help and any info.

I will get the serial number tomorrow when I get back to the grader. I asked the same question about if the mounts were the same. To make a long story short, according to what JD has told me is that the first mounts must have been replaced out of warranty because they could not find a history on that being done in the JD computer. The dealership changed ownership from the time the grader was purchased and when the mounts were replaced and being that JD didn’t cover the repair I was told the new owners of the dealership didn’t have the past work history of the grader. At least that’s how it was explained to me. So from what I understand if the work was not done under warranty then the history of the grader would only be from the time when the new owners took over. I don’t have a copy of the invoice and don’t know what the part numbers were for the replacements, although I wish I did so I would know if the same mounts were going to be replaced again. I was told there was an updated bulletin on the mounts but don’t know when that was issued. The first time they were replaced was early 2016 if my memory is correct.

The bulletin is dated July 2021. There is a serial number break listed in the bulletin. That is why I asked for the S/N. Also I can look up warranty history with a S/N. Yes, when a new dealer takes over the service records could be all lost. I would like to think the computer system would have had all the information transferred to any new system the new dealer uses, but you never know. I know many Deere dealers use the same business system. What state are you in?

Thank you for the welcome remarks hope to learn as much as I can. In regards to the belt tensioner, either the tensioner pulley or the pulley straight above it is chirping louder each day. I don’t know if it is related to the vibration but it is annoying. They both have been changed twice along with new belts and roughly 200hrs the noise starts creeping back. JD recommended to change again but it is getting aggravating that there is not a clear solution to the same reoccurring issues.

My 2 cents worth. Changing engine mounts is a temporary fix. The sauce of the vibration needs to be found. From what you have described indicates there is a dynamic balance issue somewhere. It could be the crankshaft or the output shaft amongst other things. Even the harmonic balancer being out of wack could cause the described vibration. There are moble business who can check it while the engine is in your machine. The only other way to get around the vibration is not to run it in that rev range.
