We have a 2006 JLG 400s boomlift. Has several problems- will swing right just fine but very slow left (after using it several hours will stop completely) and drive is same way- will drive forward fine but backward acts same as left swing. Also will not rotate basket at all, but you can hear engine labor down a little when you push switch. However, all functions work perfectly fine from ground controls (except drive obviously, because there are no drive controls on ground). It has the platform control module with CAN wires running to ground control module.
We bought this lift about 5 years ago, and it started having these issues especially in the summertime. Seems to go with when it's warmed up. Kept getting worse and worse till now you can hardly use it. The basket rotate used to work a little bit before it warmed up but now quit totally.
Have a little over 12 volts at battery, ground controls, and basket. And about 8 volts at start switch at platform. Also 12 volts on blue wire on speed control knob and 8 volts at other 2 wires.
Unplugged speed control knob and all functions quit working except left swing and backwards drive, and they went slow like usual.
I think not a wire issue in the wire from platform to ground because it is a CAN wire that all functions go through, and some functions work. And we have full voltage to platform. Anyone know what the 8 volts is all about or what's the deal?

Sounds like the platform control personalities may need to be adjusted, do you have a JLG analyzer? You can also check function of the speed control knob with the analyzer, although I would not suspect an issue with the speed control as you have some functions working correctly.
