    IH 412 & IH E200 overheating issues

Update.... Hi all... So here is where we are at on these two machines. The 412 has been pretty much holding it's own tho I have come to understand operations of these style of machines which we hadn't been doing and I will get to that shortly. Regarding the E200... We pulled the radiator and...

What the hell was I thinking! A tale of land development and our 1st rodeo in such.

chidog.... You aren't far off. In hindsight, do I wish I could have procured newer equipment?... Hell yes... Could I have?... Hell no. Having started with just a skid steer there is no way I could have procured, let alone afforded, the various forms of heavy equipment required to perform the...

John Deere 260 skidsteer excessive engine shake.

We did have an engine mount bolt that was broke and we replaced it. This was some time ago. Thought it may have been the culprit but after replacing it the engine still, and always, has had a major shake since we have owned it. I have believed that the 3 cylinder diesel variant was...

John Deere 260 skidsteer excessive engine shake.

Greetings all, Curious if anyone can speak to why my JD 260 skidsteer engine shakes violently but operates well otherwise. It shakes so much it breaks the alternator tension adjustment arm. The shake dissipates at higher rpm but does still shake. Definitely worse at idle and low rpms. All...

Komatsu PC60-7: Yet ANOTHER Hydraulic Line Failure Today

That's great news Mark. Foxes are fairly easy to protect against... bears may be another issue. Having gown up with them I've come to understand their brute force and persistence. Just make certain you have a coop that the chickens can huddle up inside in at night.

    IH 412 & IH E200 overheating issues

My bad. I didn't see this till today. Unfortunately weather has not allowed us to use the scrapers much to my disappointment. No traction what so ever in the saturated clay. We had looked for bubbles and found none. We also flushed the whole cooling system which did not reveal anything. I...

Komatsu KDC 614TA.... What's the story on this engine?

Hi Simon. Thank you for the feedback. I will be looking at all those criteria. Nice to know someone that has experience with this outfit and can speak to it. We pull the engine tomorrow and I expect the parts to be in our facility no later than next Monday or so. I will document and convey...

Komatsu KDC 614TA.... What's the story on this engine?

I have successfully found engine parts for this engine from an outfit called KMP Brand out of Texas. I initially called them as they boasted parts for the S6D125 and other variants and I wanted to see if they had heard of this engine. The guy I talked to hadn't had any activity in this area...

Komatsu KDC 614TA.... What's the story on this engine?

Honestly, I will have to go back and look. I concentrated my attention on the underside of it as that is where it's issues are. I seem to recall that it is one head but I can't be certain.

Komatsu KDC 614TA.... What's the story on this engine?

I had hoped that was the case and like you, I thought initially it was an S6D125 only to find out otherwise on the name plate. No '0'. 'TA' after the 614.

    Komatsu pins/bushings

Southernman13, We had a local CAT shop that overhauled every aspect of CAT equipment. They would bring their worn pins to us which we would then 'spray weld' the worn pins to a diameter over tolerance and then turn them back down to spec. Any well equipped machine shop should have the ability...

Komatsu KDC 614TA.... What's the story on this engine?

I tried to run it against Cummins and there is no match. Apparently Cummins engines have a prefix in the serial number which this engine does not. I also have come to understand that for Cummins engines that made it to Komatsu, Komatsu removed Cummins serial number and applied their own.

Komatsu KDC 614TA.... What's the story on this engine?

I was vague as I am just trying to figure out the history of the engine itself. It's as tho it never existed. Every parts resource I have has no info on it at all. And I have been corrected in this forum many times on how if you don't have a serial number and model number of the engine that no...

Komatsu KDC 614TA.... What's the story on this engine?

Did I say I want the engine? I'm just trying to fix it for another. I find it more an anomaly than anything else. I have a hard time understanding how an engine from such a reputable outfit doesn't have an internet foot print.

Komatsu PC60-7: Yet ANOTHER Hydraulic Line Failure Today

Hi Mark. Been reading your escapades here. Don't know your age or your wife's age but if your local tax authority is hell bent on raising your taxes you may want to either consider selling (if the property truly is worth what they are assessing) or consider a reverse mortgage that can leave...

Komatsu KDC 614TA.... What's the story on this engine?

Greetings all. Have had a bit of a hiatus through the holiday's but back at it. I have come across a diesel engine that needs some work. It is a Komatsu KDC 614TA with the serial number 45164056. I have tried to research this engine and aside from shop manuals that speak to it and prove...

'60 D6b recoil spring guide - can not remove

no no... that's politically correct.... BFH is not politically correct. :) So I put a lot more heat to it this morning... and used a coal chisel at the seam where the block meets the frame and still could not get the block itself to budge. It is, I assume, rusted solid to the frame. I can...
