'60 D6b recoil spring guide - can not remove

If I understand you correctly pittsburgh cat man the dowels are vertical from the frame to the block? That would explain why I could not get any side to side motion. If I used a chisel at the seam to pry the block upward I assume this would be advantageous? I have two bolts yet to remove...

Anyone Know Anything About Allis Chalmers HD11E Dozers? Early 1970's

Greetings bulletpruf, I am that HD16 guy. I'm like you... I like the old iron. Love the diesel creek videos. I have been documenting my exploits with the a 65 home subdivision on here and have considered starting a youtube channel for it. As the guys here can attest to, I've had my bouts...

'60 D6b recoil spring guide - can not remove

So I have reached a point after 18 months that I need to replace the recoil spring on my D6. I was able to successfully remove the mounting bolts for the spring guide however the guide itself (block) is fused securely to the track rail. I have tried heat, a BFH, hydraulic ram and am having no...

Year and some feedback on a Komatsu PC300LC-5LC

Ok.... seriously looking to commit. I have provided a contingency to the owner. I have to be able to get the engine up and running before purchasing and moving it. For those who are not awful fond of the S6D125 motor which is in this beast... would this not alleviate your concerns regarding...

Year and some feedback on a Komatsu PC300LC-5LC

lmao!!! I get the point guys. If this machine lasts long enough to complete a 3 acre pond and storm drains I'm a happy camper. I have not committed to it yet and I won't until I have assured myself that it can. The owner stated that it lost the bearing while going down a steep hill with it...

Year and some feedback on a Komatsu PC300LC-5LC

Hey all. I believe I have found an excavator to purchase and use on our development. It's serial number is A30206. Trying to determine the year tho I believe it is between '93 and '95. If so it would make it the newest piece of equipment I would have outside of my 2002 JD 260 skidsteer...

    IH 412 & IH E200 overheating issues

Greetings all, I've have two IH scrapers I'm having over heating issues with. The 412 required replacement of the water pump when I acquired it as the pump seals gave out and it was leaking all over. After replacing it however I have had issue with over heating when under load and I am having...

Specs and possible availability on an Alice Chalmers generator

You are lucky. We used to have a good one just 5 minutes away but his son took over the business and now rebuilds are like 20th on his priority. Actually considering rebuilding myself if necessary.

Specs and possible availability on an Alice Chalmers generator

Anyone know if a 1966 A/C charging generator... even used... can be had? The one on mine has never worked since I have had it and I am just getting around to addressing it. Also... if the specs... i.e. output current and voltage is known that would be greatly appreciated. I know the system is...

    Case 980b year?

Talked to Case. They seem to agree... they can find no bearings for it.... just bushings. Bushings I can probably recreate tho I would need to understand their composition and I assume they are hardened in some fashion. They will get back to me on sprockets.

    Case 980b year?

Is it conceivable that there isn't actually a bearing for the idler wheel? I'm looking at an exploded diagram and I only see bushings. No reference to bearings.

    Case 980b year?

Hello all, Looking at a Case 980b for purchase. Serial number is 6203912. Curious about the availability of new parts.... i.e. idler bearing (inside and out), very likely the idler pin, and used parts for the sprockets left and right. The machine has been road hard and put away wet but...

Remember that pan I lost? It's nuthin compared to this!

Guys... I am very grateful for the contributions. I've stated before that I have a 16,000 sq ft prototyping shop. I have always said I'd be a happy camper if I never had to leave it but unfortunately I get to spend very little time in it as of late. This mishap with the scraper will afford me...

What the hell was I thinking! A tale of land development and our 1st rodeo in such.

That's the way I have lived my 67 years. Thank the lord I have been very fortunate to have been exposed to a wide variety of life over my years and I have embraced it all with zeal and a profound desire to learn. This development project is kind of a culmination of all of that. I know very...
