    2012 Yanmar VIO-55-5B Issues - need advice!

    My guess is you have some bypass in the swivel joint and you may need new final drives. I have a similar machine 2010 vio55. the left final drive had low power if it was run solo like you said. I've replaced both final drives. It's much better.

    KX91 Final drive issues and questions

    I replaced the entire final drive. Both of them. You are correct in saying that cavity you drained is separate from the hydraulic system. I think you could try to just rebuild the gear side, leaving the hydraulic side intact.

    I bought the same machine from a guy in Tukwilla. He Goes by Yen. He is an importer and has been able to get parts for me. 206-960-2387. He takes a while to get stuff, but so far his prices have been good. I'm interested in hearing what you've found on your machine.
