Just had this machine delivered to our job site brand new. What could cause the track to do this? It’s at the idler wheel side not the sprocket.View attachment IMG_9911.jpeg
Nope. I didn’t notice it when we flew to maui to look at it. We purchased it. Had to wait for it to get shipped to big island from Maui. Then wait for attachments. Was sitting at cat on island from early December. finally told them we needed the machine delivered it needs to work then I noticed it on delivery to the job. Still waiting for the thumb from California also. Sounds like there shipping another one from Maui now to replace this one.Didn't their predelivery pick this up? If it's a rental tell them about it and run it. If it's yours tell the stealer to bring another one out and take this back. That is ****.
thanks glad to be here. Yes cat 325. I don’t have anymore pics but cat mechanics said they pulled some measurements and think the the frame was welded up wrong.Welcome to the Forums Aj! Glad to have you.
325?
Any more pics of the track and idler?
So Cats QA works really well then.thanks glad to be here. Yes cat 325. I don’t have anymore pics but cat mechanics said they pulled some measurements and think the the frame was welded up wrong.
Cats gonna get us another machine. Told me to use this one for now for an upcoming job. So when the new one gets here I’m gonna have to send it back to cat and wait for parts to get swapped. The case drain and glass screen protector for the mulcher. Then re calibrate all the attachments. So Cats QA works really well then.
A totally new undercarriage should fix it, don't accept anything less. You may have to play hard ball though.

Yes to bad it wasn’t caught sooner. We have a new 309 also which I really like. Other then the mulcher we’re gonna run a striker hammer, rock buckets and a ripper.Love our 325, it's a great machine. Sucks this issue made it all the way out to the customer in the field.
Good thing the dealer is taking care of it. What kind of attachments are you running other than a mulcher?
Have you asked the dealer if it is possible to simply ship you a complete track frame assembly (removed from another machine if necessary) with travel motor and tracks installed.? That would avoid the need for all the swapping over of parts that already work, and all the re-calibrations. Maybe a better option in view of the logistics challenges faced as regards moving machines from one island to another. So when the new one gets here I’m gonna have to send it back to cat and wait for parts to get swapped. I was under the impression that the track frame was the problem. If the issue is in the carbody then shipping another complete machine would probably be quicker and easier despite the logistics. As for swapping a track frame, Nige, isn't it the whole X frame, unlike a dozer?
A one-piece carbody/track frame indeed. How quaint. Shows I should really stop dealing with Lawns & Gardens sized equipment. The track frame is integral to the Xframe, which the carbon sits atop, via a turntable bearing.
That would have to come from the mainland to where the other machine is an island away.Have you asked the dealer if it is possible to simply ship you a complete track frame assembly (removed from another machine if necessary) with travel motor and tracks installed.? You may be right, but in that case something somewhere must have fetched it a wicked wallop.....I still believe that's S & H (Shipping and Handling) damage.

All we have now is a Cat hammer and a couple of buckets. Had the dealer install a third line for a rotating grapple and tiltrotator in the future.
