Good day Paul
Is the switch not spring-loaded to the neutral direction?
Kind regards

It should be idle with the middle position - full speed in the back position - engine shut down in the sprung position for a short period. All providing that manual mode has been selected.
Kind regards

Hi Thanks for the reply I will check later but the switch on the right isn't doing anything for me. I think it only has two settings neutral and push forward to stop.

If you look at the two diagrams you sent me the two switches on the right are different . One of the has three positions and the other has only two positions.

Good day Paul
Alongside the Auto-Manual switch there should be a three position switch high speed > idle > stop. You should see errors on the display if it is working, I will try to find the information and post to you.
By switching to manual you by-pass the machine V-ECU in the cab and just use the E-ECU behind the cabin.
Kind regards

Good day uffex
I have a 2005 volvo cl 140 bl always running at full throttle and no possibility to adjust the throttle.
When I change the emergencey switch position, it gives error er11. But nothing changes, the machine works at full throttle. Volvo service came and said that both the V-ECU and the entire electrical installation need to be replaced. I had another master look at it and they couldn't figure it out. My excavator has not been working for 3 months and is faulty. Can you help me?

EMRE, code ER11 is for MID187 VECU Calibration memory EEPROM. This means the VECU is failing during its self test. The VECU is faulty. You should be able to run it in Manual mode if need be.
As far as diagnosing the harness that will have to be left to someone that is physically at the machine.

I would say that the manual mode switches need to be tested and verified they are working correctly before replacing the harness.

Hi Ben Witter, Thank you for your answer. I changed the V-ECU yesterday but the problem is still the same. There is nothing visible on the electrical cables, I will have the electrical cable checked again.

Could I fit a manual governor to my engine instead of the electrical actuator. The volvo wheeled diggers have a manual throttle which can be adjusted with a cable.

Hi NEVREPAIR I'm based in Ireland and I got my VECU from a scrapped machine in a local breakers. He allowed me to try it out to see if it worked before I paid him to see if it worked. It cost €1000. What is the issue with your machine?
