Deere 555 won't curl

My JD 555 was working fine,then all of a sudden the bucket won't curl.It has a 4 way bucket,will open and close bucket,raise and lower,but won't curl and is stuck all the way down.
This is my first piece of equipment and I'm learning as I go,so I don't know if this is something common or simple.Thanks for any help or pointers.

check to see if linkage as come off

Depends. With that vintage of JD loaders the control linkage is usually my first suspect. But without knowing more about it or operating it it's hard to say. Is it deadheading when you operate the function or is the stick just flopping around?
