Cat 262B leaking out of COMPRESSOR & MOTOR GP-REFRIG, tips for disassembly?

My 262B is leaking hydraulic fluid from what appears to be the seal marked 1 in this diagram. It leaks when parked, probably a few tablespoons a day. To remove the refrigerant compressor marked 4 to replace the seal do I simply need to remove the two attached hoses and the two flabge connection bolts?

I can *just* get to the bottom bolt with a 3/8" drive bar with 4" extension through an inconveniently placed hole (picture attached) so that would be easier option than removing it with the attached motor. I have tried tightening these bolts to stop the leak but it hasn't helped much.

Is there any special concerns I need to consider when trying this, such as having the entire hydraulic tank drain or gassing myself with refrigerant gas?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Okay after talking to a mechanic it turns out I need to remove the motor side not the refrigerant side and replace a seal not a gasket.

So any tips on that procedure would be appreciated.

For anyone else who has to pull this motor to replace the shaft seal:

The service cover on the skid plate roughly under the floor boards won't give you better access but it does make pre-cleaning all the muck (hydraulic oil and sheep poop in my case) much easier.

Plug the hydraulic tank breather tube with a machine screw. Remove the fill cap and place a shop vac over the fill hole with the seal slightly broken.

The small hose on the bottom leaks the worst. A household electrical maret (mariette? Marionette?) wire connector makes an okay cap for it. Plastic wrap and electrical tape worked for the big ones.

To remove and reattach the two 5/16" head allen bolts use the long end of a stand alone allen key wrench. A 3/8" drive 5/16" shallow socket with a 4" extension makes a good extension for the short end. The allen key is a tight fit but it will fit.

Carefully drill a small pilot hole in the seal and thread in a self tapping screw to assist in removal.

The large hose on the bottom was an absolute chore to reconnect. I had to position the motor inside without bolting it to start the large hose. This was the most surprising challenge.

Your ribs will hurt and you will break the HVAC plastic pipe unit off so just accept that. Place padding on the lip of the compartment.

Start on a full stomach so you don't have to decontaminate for lunch.

This is probably obvious to most people but I am not very mechanically inclined so it was all new to me. Maybe it will help someone else some day.
