History:
I have had the machine for 11 years and it has been trouble free until now.
I bought the machine with a bad engine and rebuilt the engine in 2013 when it had 5719 hours on it.
Complete rebuild with the exception of the injection pump and I did have the injectors pop tested and they were fine then.
On 8-17-2023 at 5994 hours I drained and cleaned the fuel tank, replaced the lift pump and both fuel filters.
It now has 6019 hours on it.
I was using it the other day and it was running fine like normal.
I went out a few days later to use it and it would crank but not start or run.

Machine Information:
Model Year 1992, Machine PIN JAF0101469, Cummins/Case 4B3.9, Engine S.N. 44702207
Injection Pump Lucas CAVDPA/DPS
Troubleshooting Done:

Checked for voltage at fuel shutdown solenoid with the key on and while cranking, had 12 volts in both conditions.
Cummins manual said if both of the above conditions are good the fuel shutdown solenoid is bad so I replaced the fuel shutdown solenoid.
Used lever on transfer pump to verify fuel supply at the fuel bleeder on the filter housing and at the bleeder on the top rear of the injection pump.
Both locations had fuel and no air coming out while manually pumping the lever.
Cracked one injector line and cranked engine, nothing but a drip came out.
Tried to start the machine after this and nothing, cranks but won't start or run.

Current Situation:
I have given up for now trying to start it until I hear back from the Guru's on this forum.
Looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say.

Thank you,

Gary

Been many years, actually was in 1998, I had a problem with a non-starting 1845C and from my notes I see it was traced to a dirty shut down solenoid. Notes say I removed it and cleaned it to get machine working but also a few days latter I did install a new one. Notes say part number was J904630

Did a google search as I did not recall where or what this solenoid was and

That is what I replaced, and it made no difference.
It is located on the bottom of the pump in a terrible place to get to with the loader arms down.
I am thinking that it is the injection pump but I find it strange that it would just die with no prior symptoms.

UPDATE TIME:
I removed the pump after talking to Mike thepumpguysc here on the Forum and sent it to him by USPS on July 8th, it did not get to him until September 3rd.
It should have taken 5 days but no USPS lost it for 57 days and they could not track it.
I filed a lost package claim with them and got no help so I will never use USPS again.
So being that it was gone for so long and that I didn't expect to get it back I bought another pump from someone else unfortunately because Mike did not have a core to build so that I could get the machine going again.
Mike finally received the pump I sent to him after I purchased the other pump so he sent it back to me so that I could send it in to get my core charge refunded from the company that I had to buy the replacement pump from.
I sent my old pump in for the core refund and I was told by the company I bought my rebuilt pump from that my old pump that I was going to get fixed had a broken cam ring so that is why the machine would not run.
Looking back at this nightmare that I had I should have sent the pump to Mike by UPS so that it could have been tracked and then I could have had him do the best rebuild.
The rebuilt pump was installed, the engine started right up after bleeding and the machine runs great now.

Sorry to hear about your shipping issues, but glad you were able to get some feedback on what happened to your old pump. I hate swapping a part and never knowing for certain that was the right thing to do.
