Spent my day in the belly pan pit of a D8R

Hadn’t pulled the pans on this one for too long…. Last job it was on, started losing some hydraulic and trans oil. Pulled the floor pan in the cab and the dirt was up to the driveline. Oil was getting slung EVERYWHERE and couldn’t find the leak. Kept adding and limped it through. Made a Friday...

    Bore welding

Hello, I’m entertaining the idea of getting into bore repair. Have had to get a few things at work done over the years and people call me often asking who to use. Not many around my parts do it. The matco guy let me take their new Maximus 5.0 to demo and it does that. I had it plugged into a cat 320GC today and a ford f-150 so it...

    Thread repair

Thought I’d put this up. I’m sure plenty of you have had to do the same. These are 7/8” holes for the side rollers on a cat 623B floor. I think a 7/8” hole is about my minimum for walking 3/32” 7018 around while standing on my head… the 1” ones I did for the locks were definitely an easier weld...

    Cat CB-24B problems

Hello, I was wondering if you guys might be able to help me out here. We have a little Cat asphalt roller SN: 42000259 with around 1400 hours on it. It keeps melting one of the fuel injectors in the burner assembly for the DPF. I’ve talked to the dealer several times and haven’t gotten it...
