I may have to take a new photo, I likely can't find the old one. Friends have a MEAD MIGHTY MOUSE dozer. I think 1950? era. It has a small Wisconsin engine.

I can't read the logo, is it American Road Maintainer? I feel the tractor is IH Farmall, I'll look into that.
These machines have fascinated me since my first. In the 1940s, mostly late 1940s a number of new machines based on older machines blossomed. There was a flood of machines utilizing military surplus components. ARM might have been earlier than World War II.

I can't speak with authority, I believe companies like American Road Machine used a variety of farm tractors to adapt. It seems ineficient to build adaptaptations from several tractors with different specs. I've seen ARM road maintainers from IH Farmall M, Mineapolis Moline, Ford 8N, and a few others.
The Austin Western Badger was a 3/4 swing cable shovel powered by an IH F30.

Something new didn't know Henry Ford's brother/family made Wilford swing shovels in the 1920s.

Says Bay City. Bay City was well known for more conventional full sting cable shovels & cranes. I can see no mechanism to swing. I'm not clear what its purpose was, maybe a crane for some specialized job. Early McCormick Deering farm tractor is the heart of it.

It's near my son's house, I'll study it next trip. I said no turn table, now I don't know.
It has a turn table. If you make the image full size you can see the gear for swinging under the plate the foot pedal is attached to.

Should go back to hand crank starting, how many know how to use a crank properly?
Imagine hand crank autos with auto stop, people jumping out at intersections to fire
up the suv/quad cab and it shuts off before they get back inside. Orthopedic surgeons
could make a few extra bucks with all the hand/arm/shoulder injuries. But look at the
cost savings of mag ignition and no starting system, all the battery, starters, switches,
relays and wiring to get rid of. Put a chip in the crank handle to stop theft and just
carry it with you where ever you go. Carhart could come out with a new style of cargo
firehose pants with a special compartment for carrying your extra crank.
