    Still haven’t figured out the root cause of the problem? Shouldn’t take more than an hour or two to figure out. There are only few things that can cause no crank: 1 battery 2 relay 3 fuse 4 solenoid on the stater 5 starting motor 6 key switch (unlikely based on your description)

    I am also having the "Low System Voltage" issue with my CAT 299D2. I don't know what exactly went wrong, but I guess most likely the alternator. So I bought a generic replacement one from Amazon and will see if the message goes away after replacing ther alternator (CAT part# 377-6966)
