    Just another day in paradise

I haven’t found much used and I’m not sure the customer would want aftermarket. He was adamant about using Deere parts the first time around. I’m open to anything that solves the issue and keeps everyone happy and not bankrupt

Yes. Both the o-ring and oil pressure connector tube were new. I’ll look again at the connector tube when I go back to it. I really don’t have a cause of failure. Everything on the bottom end was starved and the top end looks good. Deere wants just under $10k for parts to fix this block or $13k...

Pretty sure that was before I got done. I don’t think I’ve ever pulled on it with the crane unlike my snap on 3/4” ratchet.

Machine was about 1/4 mile down a road I didn’t dare drive down. Took a wheelbarrow to lug tools and still made about 6 trips. another inch of rain coming tomorrow. At this rate I need a service boat.

Terex mulcher today. Quit down in the woods with the water in fuel light on. Replaced fuel filters. Had to bring out the fuel water separator and clamp it in the vise and use the 48” pipe wrench to loosen it. Fuel gauge read half a tank. Couldn’t get it to prime. Rigged up a fuel can to get it...

Looking for a service truck with a 14' body and 12k crane

The part that always gets me is that if you ask 10 dot officers you’ll get 10 answers and they aren’t 100% certain on what they tell you. Here’s what I do. I run a us dot number on my truck, my license is intrastate so I don’t need a medical card, I register for 34k (don’t know why since my...

what to do and what not to do when a engine runs on its own?

Had a small duetz run away on me. It ran for probably 2-3 minutes at full screech but wouldn’t blow up. Finally I got brave and cut the fuel line.

It did seem a little tight around the thrust bearing When I pulled it. To be honest I was looking more at the rod journals than looking for bluing.

Called the machine shop to see where they were at. Crankshaft is bent .080. I asked how and he said that it got so hot it warped. they are checking the line bore on the block and sending it back later this week.

Dealer just called and told me that the oil pump was good and they were not going to warranty anything. I’m not surprised. I told them they could keep it because I wasn’t going to use it again.

    The upcoming generation

Don’t know where you’ve been in Texas but when it rains in south Texas the caliche turns to slime that fills the tread on your tires and turns them into slicks and over here in East Texas it’s pretty sandy and loose soil. I get dragged in and out of job sites on a regular basis.

    Just another day in paradise

Was at a local dealership I help out occasionally today and was telling them about what happened. They recommended a machine shop in Houston that they use and they were making a run down tomorrow morning so I went and got the block and crank to send it down. No guarantee but I don’t have much to...

To my knowledge they didn’t weld on this machine but just like everything else that doesn’t add up, I don’t know for sure. One thing I know for sure is that I’ve been in business for 5 years and the year and a half that I’ve been in East Texas has been the toughest. Cold winters in Maine don’t...

I guess I know that it’s probably not my fault but this is the first one I’ve had fail and it’s eating at me. I’m thinking way too much about the what ifs and how to prevent it the second time.

I’m going back to check numbers on the bearings and inspect the machine for signs of a rollover. The longer I think about it the more it isn’t adding up. 4x4 may be onto something.
