    Wyoming road failure

Looks like a good place for a bridge but then it won’t be as attractive.

    What's your hoe doing?

What is it with people that don’t understand the concept of gravity? I always want to be on the high side cause the low side gets all the crap. When I built my house, it’s 20 yards below the peak, I put 2 loads of rip rap around the outside perimeter of the build site before we started, cost me...

    Hose sizing

1/2” would be fine or go 5/8” but anytime you get over 1/2” price doubles. I usually make 1/2” hoses for 20 to 25 GPM.

1974 case 580b bushings loader arms

I would have to see a picture and as I am not very knowledgeable about a Case that old but if it’s a greaseable end, they usually have 2 bushings one on each side, so the middle is open to allow grease to flow around. Unless you are restoring, I would just put the correct bushings in and if you...

    Driveway mess

Looking at all that slop, while it may dry hard, I think you’re just going to be mucking around till you take it all out, grade it flat and throw some grass seed on it. Then build a road. I don’t see a driveway.

    1997 JCB 212S?

If you’re not in the mud, as long as the ply rating is enough, which I’m sure it is, hoe away. You may find those tires are just fine for your conditions. I wish I could run those tires half the time, if not more.

    1997 JCB 212S?

Nice machine. If you want to change tires, list yours on CL, take pictures while they are on the machine. Go to Simpletire, I just scored a set of rears for 803 bucks shipped. Be patient with the site and just wait for the right price

    What's your hoe doing?

Think you should get it running. All the old equipment you see around, it ran at one point and developed a problem or people just forgot about it. The longer it stays not running, the harder it is to get running and the faster it dies. YMMV

Anybody put a winch on their backhoe, so they don’t get stuck in mud

I gave that a like but unless you want to wait for the red clay to dry out and you have sslliiiidd down a 80’ ravine. You are not getting out clawing your way to the top. It would take you 3 days to get that far Lol. I‘m fully aware of what a backhoe can do and know how to operate one quite well...

Anybody put a winch on their backhoe, so they don’t get stuck in mud

That’s kinda where I got the idea. I cut a small 2” rectangular hole that you could slip a grab hook on one end of a chain and run a bunch of chain to a tree and using the offside stabilizer or curled backhoe bucket, you could actually steer. Lol, worked pretty good. Ended up getting a strap...

Anybody put a winch on their backhoe, so they don’t get stuck in mud

Nope, moved back to NH 12 years ago and everything is gone. Just picture a 18“ rim bolted to rear axle inside the rear tire sticking out, about 6”, utilizing the rear tires lug bolts.

Anybody put a winch on their backhoe, so they don’t get stuck in mud

Aren’t many winches out there that’s gonna help a backhoe get unstuck. Best thing you can do is get more stone where you are working. What you can do is, practice. Get the machine up in the air and figure out how to move using the hoe. You have to move it side to side, lifting the back of the...
